Forty five Bahraini students have been selected by Gulf Air for its summer work experience training programme.

The candidates, currently studying in universities and majoring in various fields, from finance and mass communications, to management and engineering, spend two months at Gulf Air’s headquarters in Muharraq.

During their stay they are put through a hands-on practical training in various departments which include the IT department, human resources, Frequent flyer programme, engineering and airport services and are rotated on a regular basis and constantly assessed and monitored.

“This is another example of Gulf Air’s commitment to contributing to the community. We are proud to host students and provide them with first-hand experience of a real life work environment,” says Gulf Air Acting Vice President Human Resources Sameer Saeed.

“It’s a short period, but it motivates students as they work among thousands of hardworking and dedicated employees which we believe will help them in the long run.”

The national programme has achieved great success since it was launched in 2003.
