The Greater Amman Municipality will inaugurate the new Raghadan Mosque during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The mosque, built on an area of 600 square meters, serves commuters and citizens using the Raghadan bus terminal in the City Center.
GAM's Executive Director of Engineering, Eng. Ibraheem Hashem said the mosque is characterized by its architectural design, notably its dome, minaret, the altar, and the umbrella of the main entrance. He said the mosque integrates with the bus terminal project, and serves all citizens in the region, as well as the bus commuters during the day.
It is worth mentioning that a Jordanian benefactor has paid for the construction works of Raghadan Mosque, while GAM has completed the building and furnishing of the mosque, as well as equipping it with air-conditioning and sound systems.
According to Hashem, the mosque consists of an oratory (praying place) for men in the main ground floor, which was built on an area of 400 square meters and can absorb 600 persons. The mosque's women oratory, meanwhile, can take in 300, and was built on an area of 200 square meters, including the basement.
Characterized by its panoramic location, the mosque is surrounded by several residential neighborhoods and commercial sites.
In the same context, the Municipality has finished 90% of the development of GAM Employees Club, by completing the construction works. GAM is also completing the project's painting and lighting works, as well as the installation of sanitary facilities.
The JD1.7 million building consists of sport halls for tennis, billiard, and chess, plus a playground and a large sports hall that can receive 300 people. There are also swimming pools for children and adults, built on an area of 340 square meters.
