The second season of Goalarabia fantasy football competition drew to a close, with six winners being presented the 'Best Manager' award, based on the performance of their virtual teams in the six Football Leagues.

The competition has proven extremely popular, attracting nearly 30,000 new participants during the 2009/2010 season. This remarkable success is due to the enhanced design and functionality of the goalarabia.com website that features vital information for club managers, such as news updates, players' status (from bookings to injuries), blogs and a fan discussion forum, as well as to the amazing grand prizes offered by General Motors – the six Chevrolet Caprice cars – a fantastic incentive that made playing even more competitive and more fun.

"We are delighted to see such enthusiasm and strong support for the competition in the Middle East. Our thanks go to all Goalarabia fantasy football fans that embraced the challenge", said Ricky Ghai, Executive Director, Digital Media at ADMC. "We hope to build on this excitement during the 2010/2011 season, as we continue to provide the very best in sports online entertainment and bring the most engaging and rewarding experience to football fans in the region", concluded Ghai.

The 2009/2010 Goalarabia fantasy football winners include: Abdullah Al Marzooqi (UAE League), Mohamad Al Khoudari (English Premier League), Zaid Saleim Mohammed Khalifeh (Saudi League), Nadim Kaissar Matar (Italian-Serie A), Tarek Khalifah (Spanish League) and Mohammed Salem Al Nassim (Egyptian League).

The fantasy football competition allows participants to build their own winning football team, by selecting eleven players from a list of active professional players, and signing them according to a set budget. Like their real-life counterparts, managers chose their teams based on players' current and projected performance.
