Dubai Woodshow 2006 is expected to draw exhibitors from more than 40 countries, putting on display a wide selection of wood and wood machinery products. The participating countries include Germany, Canada, UK, India, Singapore, China, Malaysia, South Africa, USA, Russia and Italy. Also present at the show are exhibitors from France, Turkey, Iran, Japan, Spain, Taiwan, New Zealand, Lebanon, Korea, Indonesia and the UAE.

“For an exhibition making its debut, the response Dubai Woodshow 2006 has generated from top companies in the wood industry is nothing short of exceptional. This strong international participation signifies the vast potential of the Middle East wood market, and at the same time, underlines the pressing need for a credible, wide-ranging platform that brings together diverse industry players under one roof,” said Dawood Al Shezawi, Managing Director of Strategic Marketing & Exhibitions, the organizers of Dubai Woodshow 2006.

The exhibitor line-up at Dubai Woodshow 2006 will include a host of leading international names. One of the most prominent participants is Germany-based HOLZ-HER REICH Spezialmaschinen, a premier manufacturer of woodworking machinery. At the exhibition, HOLZ-HER will showcase its two recently-launched products – beam saw CUT 70 and CNC machining center PROMASTER 7123 – as well as new multi-function units on edge bander, special glue station, and new angle cut device for vertical panel saws.

“Being a specialized show, Dubai Woodshow 2006 will allow us to meet and network with production managers, joinery investors and contractors,” said Giovanni Masino, Area Sales Manager, HOLZ-HER Exports. “Dubai is a high-potential market for our products, and through our participation in this exhibition we expect to strengthen our business relations in Dubai and elsewhere in the region. We have introduced many HOLZ-HER patented concepts in the wood industry, and will be showcasing these leading-edge woodworking machineries at Dubai Woodshow 2006.”

Among the many international exhibitors are Ceratizit Luxembourg Sari, Serra, and Jowat AG from Germany, Airpress Company and Timber Web from UK, American Hardwood Export Council from USA, Timber S.A. from South Africa, Golden Star Wood Jaya from Malaysia, Pidilite Industries Ltd and Uniply Industries from India and Jiashan New Fuhua Timber Industry from China.

In addition to the strong international representation, Dubai Woodshow 2006 will also witness significant participation from leading GCC-based companies such as Danube Building Materials, Simco, Mona Trading, Al Humoudi and Italdeco. A regional leader in solid wood supply, Danube Building Materials will have an extensive presence at Dubai Woodshow 2006, and will seek to leverage the excellent networking platform offered by the exhibition to enlarge their customer base.

“Through our strong presence at Dubai Woodshow 2006, Danube aims to consolidate its position as the premier regional supplier of solid wood. We will showcase our entire range of products at the event, including solid timber, plywood, medium density fibre board, plastic laminate and veneer,” said Rizwan Sajan, Chairman, Danube Building Materials. “A major highlight of Danube’s participation at Dubai Woodshow 2006 will be the launch of RESOPAL, a globally renowned plastic laminate brand, in the Middle East.”

“A measure of the importance with which the global wood industry views Dubai Woodshow 2006 can be gained from a cursory look at the show’s supporters, which include international industry bodies such as the Czech Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers Association (SVDSZ) and the Federation of Indian Plywood and Panel Industry (FIPPI), besides the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI),” Al Shezawi said. “Given the number of world-class exhibitors and the sheer range of products that will be on display, Dubai Woodshow 2006 is certain to provide a major boost to the region’s wood and wood machinery industry.”

The products and innovations to be displayed at Dubai Woodshow 2006 include MDF, plywood, hardwood, softwood, veneers, timbers, parquet, laminates, finished wood merchandise and paper products, besides molding machines, woodworking machinery and tools, accessories, components and auxiliary equipment for the worldwide wood and woodworking industry.
