GITEX Shopper is LG’s time to “Shine”
Stylish handset adds 2 new versions to its mobile
portfolio – Titanium Black and Shine candybar
Mobile enthusiasts in the Middle East will finally be able to see the LG Shine Titanium Black and Shine Candybar at close quarters when global and regional digital leader LG Electronics unveils the two bestselling additions to its Black Label series at this year’s GITEX Shopper.
The LG Shine Titanium Black and the Shine Candybar are testimony to the emphasis LG places on design philosophy, which has already resulted in sales figures upwards of 3 million units. Accolades have been pouring in ever since LG first introduced the Black Label Series last year. With the Reddot and IF Design Awards, LG emerged with multiple wins in the design and innovation categories.
LG first introduced the Chocolate family of mobile phones last year, with the award-winning LG Chocolate and following up with the gold and platinum editions. Less than two months since its launch, the handsets are set to emulate the success of their predecessor, the LG Chocolate.
Mr. K.W. Kim, President of LG Electronics – Middle East and Africa, said, “LG is determined to become a leader in the mobile handset market and we have set out on a journey to challenge the boundaries of mobile phone design by launching the Black Label series. The Shine Titanium Black and the Shine Candybar provide mobile users with a wider choice.”
Shine, the second handset in LG’s Black Label Series of premium mobile phones, has already stormed the UK and European markets less than two months after its launch. LG is targeting sales of 78 million handsets globally, including more than 10.5 million GSM units in Asia, the Middle East and Africa in 2007, which would represent a 121 per cent increase from last year in these regions.
To promote Shine, LG contracted Arab pop singer Nawal Zoghbi as the handset’s brand ambassador. LG plans to utilise this association through extensive marketing campaigns in Middle East & Africa. During the next 12 months, Nawal will endorse LG’s various upcoming GSM models.
Taking influence from futuristic trends, the LG Shine ‘Titanium Black’ presents a handset with a mature and refined finish. Edgier than black and more chic than silver, LG Shine ‘Titanium Black’ combines the best of both looks and will allow both men and women to shine. Those who loved LG Shine the first time around will be keen to get their hands on this new addition to the range, confirming LG as style leaders.
The Shine Candybar – a stunning, full-metal-body candybar phone – offers mobile users the best of both worlds with amazing looks and a high technical specification including expandable memory (MicroSD card) and an auto-focus camera by Schneider Kreuznach.
The new products will be available through LG’s channel partners at GITEX Shopper 2007, which takes place at the Airport Expo Dubai from September 6 to 13. In celebration of its new launches, LG is also offering buyers of its products the opportunity to win fabulous prizes including Mercedes cars, 32-inch plasma TVs and MP3 players.
LG unveiled a mega-promotion aiming at the customers of UAE, Oman and Qatar, titled “The Life’s Good Experience”. The promotion offers huge prizes to potential LG customers for buying LG display or media products during GITEX and Ramadan.
