ALBAWABA - German authorities announced the arresting 5 people over crimes against humanity, while Sweden announced detaining 3 suspects under the same charges.

The four arrested in Germany are believed to be Syrian Palestinians and a Syrian citizen and are "strongly suspected of killing and attempting to kill civilians, qualified as crimes against humanity and war crimes," according to a statement from Germany's Federal Public Prosecutor's Office.

Ulrika Bentelius Egelrud, the prosecutor in charge of the inquiry in Sweden, stated that the suspects were arrested owing to "good cooperation with Germany, Eurojust, and Europol".
