German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer will be heading to Israel and the Palestinian Territories on a Middle East tour that starts Wednesday, it was officially announced in Berlin Tuesday.
In Jerusalem, Fischer is scheduled for talks with Israel Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom.
On Thursday, Fischer will meet in Ramallah with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei and Foreign Minister Nasser Al-Kidwa.
Talks will deal with bilateral relations, the situation in the Middle East and Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, due to begin in mid-August, it was stated.
