Arshan Merchant appointed as Head of Internal Audit at GBCORP
Global Banking Corporation [GBCORP] B.S.C. (closed) announced the appointment of Arshan Merchant as Head of Internal Audit. Mr. Merchant brings a wealth of experience to the Audit team, with 10 years of experience in the field and a vast knowledge of conducting risk based internal audits, financial reporting standards and implementing shari’a standards and Islamic principles.
Mr. Merchant began his career as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG, Bahrain and before joining GBCORP, he held the position of the Head of Internal Audit Department at Addax Bank BSC(c). Mr. Arshan also held other positions in other investment Banks in GCC.
Speaking on Mr. Arshan Merchant's appointment, the GBCORP Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Jasmi said: “We are very pleased to welcome Arshan Merchant on board. Mr. Arshan Merchant holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Mumbai University, India, as well as Certificates as an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Information and System Auditor (CISA).
