At least five Palestinians were wounded on Thursday morning when Israeli warplanes shelled a neighbourhood in the Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun. According to WAFA, Medical sources reported that paramedics faced difficulties to reach the site to evacuate the wounded around agriculture college in the town.
Meanwhile, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip unleashed a barrage of some 10 rockets toward the Israeli town of Sderot on Thursday morning. One of the rockets struck front yard of a home in the western Negev town and did not explode. Two other rockets landed in open fields. There were no injuries or damage reported, according to Haaretz.
In the West Bank, Israeli forces nabbed on Thursday a senior Hamas commander during a military operation in the town of Nablus, Palestinian security sources said.
Israeli occupation forces raided Nablus at dawn and took with them Omar al-Tirrawi, 40, one of the senior commanders of Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, the security sources told Xinhua.
According to Hamas, al-Tirrawi's older brother, Abdel Nasser, is one of the founders of al-Qassam Brigades in the West Bank and he serves two life sentences at an Israeli jail.
