Gay Website Slams Egyptian Authorities for Homosexuals’ Arrest

Gay.com, a website whose url tells its nature, highlighted on Tuesday a report by Amnesty International voicing the human rights group’s “grave concern” about the imprisonment of a number of gay men in Egypt, arrested from a boat party.  

54 homosexual men were arrested on May 11. The went before the public prosecutor in Cairo on 6 and 7 June on charges of “immoral behavior” and “contempt of religion”. The men are being held in prison in Cairo. 

The Gay.com report grumbled about Egyptian media coverage over the arrest, describing it as “very negative.”  

“Personal information, including their names, addresses and places of work, have been printed in the newspapers,” the Gay authors said – Albawaba.com
