Nicknamed the "Voice of the Mountain" for her rich, deep vocals, Diana Hadad is back with her latest release, Garh El-Habib (Lover's Betrayal).
The Lebanese singer has always had hit singles but has rarely managed to release an entire album of nonstop smashes. But that hasn't hindered her success in the music world.
Garh El-Habib has a lot more to offer than a good single. Blending Bedouin Lebanese with traditional Egyptian beats, the title track is a duet between Hadad and Mohammed El-Ezaby. El-Ezaby is Reda Folklore Group's star singer/songwriter and one of Egypt's mawaweel (traditional epic chant) giants.
"Mani" (I'm Not), by contrast, depends solely on a contemporary theme, and its upbeat words and music are sure to put a smile on your face. All in all, Garh El-Habib is worth a listen—Albawaba.com
