Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has finalized the qualifying works of the playground of Abu Huraira Secondary School for Boys in Hai (Neighborhood) Nazzal, in accordance with the Scholastic Playgrounds Project signed with the Ministry of Education.
The agreement aims at qualifying and preparing around 27 scholastic playgrounds and yards in various regions of the Capital, to make them suitable for students use after school hours, and during holidays, through holding sports activities and championships for all age brackets in the neighborhoods of the respective qualified schools.
The Director of Sports and Recreational Facilities, Engineer Nasser Al Batayneh said that work is currently underway to rehabilitate the playground of Arwa Bint Al Hareth School for Boys in Al Nuzha Region. He pointed out that the Department is keen on providing sports supervisors to the qualified locations to further activate the sports programs in support of the sports movement and to activate it to better serve the young generations, to polish their talents, and eventually make better use of their talents and capabilities.
GAM, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Jordanian Career Education Foundation endorsed by the USAID, implements the project within a series of support and partnership activation programs, and through cooperation with the public and private agencies and NGO’s , all for the sake of sportive and recreational programs.
Earlier GAM has already announced that the playground of Khreibet Al Souk School is already prepared within the agreement aiming at supporting the sportive movement among all age brackets.
It is worth mentioning in this context that GAM and the Ministry of Education have signed the cooperation and partnership agreement towards the end of last year for the purpose of activating the school playgrounds and yards after school hours and during holidays: from 3p.m. to 9p.m. (after school hours), and from 9.am. to 10 p.m. ( during official and school holidays, and feasts), as stipulated in the agreement.
