GAM Approves Conditions and Instructions for the Charity Banquets during Ramadan

Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) determined conditions and instructions in regards to licensing the charity banquets (Mawa’ed Al Rahman) and communal breakfasting within GAM’s boundaries during the Holy month of Ramadan.
The instructions stipulated that these banquets are only to be held by a committee especially formed for this purpose, which includes region’s cadre, and the Directorates of the Specialized Markets and Traffic Operations, and parallel to this procedure, signing a written guarantee by the applicants.
For submission purposes, the instructions also stressed the importance of presenting the approval of the piece of land owner, on which the banquets are to be held, as well as using the location only during the period from breakfast hour until the prayer of ‘Isha’a.
The new directions oblige the banquets’ owners not to fix the meals inside the location, instead, they shall offer the ready and previously fixed meals, and not to using the locations for other purpose, rather than providing the charity banquets (Mawa’ed Al Rahman).
The instructions request the banquets’ owners not to install advertising and promotional signs at the location except for an introductory sign providing the name of the person or corporation holding the banquet.
Through such conditions, GAM considers public safety, and the traffic situation in coordination with the Traffic Operations Directorate, the Traffic Department, and the concerned security agencies.
Also mandatory by the instructions, the banquets’ owners shall ensure cleanliness and observe public health requirements at the location.
The issued instructions stated that GAM is not responsible for offering any services to the site except for wastes removal, after being gathered by the banquet organizers.
It is important to note that submission of applications will be available throughout GAM 27 regions.
