GAC Regional Meeting held in Jordan for the very first time
Meeting to discuss regional issues related to markets, customers, cross-selling, administration
GAC, a leading global independent provider of shipping, logistics, marine and related services, held its Regional Meeting in Jordan for the very first time at the Grand Hyatt Amman Hotel on May 23rd – 24th, where representatives from across the region were able to share information related to markets, customers, cross-selling and administration in addition to other important matters.
The regional meeting, which is conducted twice a year, was called by GAC Group’s regional office in Dubai and gathered all the Managing Directors of the GAC offices in the region namely Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Ras Al Khaimah, Saudi Arabia, Sharjah and Yemen.
Capt. Dan Hjalmarsson, the GAC ME Regional Director, stated, "The GAC Regional meetings are held twice a year at a different host country, and this year, we are honoured to be conducting this meeting in Jordan for the very first time. I believe that Jordan is the ideal location for such a significant regional event given its growing importance as a strategic gateway to and from regional markets, supported by world-class facilities and a highly skilled logistics workforce."
The seventeen GAC Managing Directors that gathered in Jordan conducted a short presentation on their respective markets prior to attending discussion sessions that intended to further build on GAC’s “Vision Y – Global Values” business strategy, which aims to develop GAC’s financial performance and internal matters, enhance customer service and provide additional trainings for employees, signifying GAC’s ability to provide a truly global solution for its customers and partners.
Mr. Ghassoub Kawar, Managing Director of GAC Jordan, welcomed the GAC representatives from around the region and encouraged them to use this meeting as an opportunity to further strengthen relations between the regional offices, whilst also highlighting the rapidly growing capabilities of the port of Aqaba over the last few years including new warehousing, infrastructure and advanced port handling facilities.
