GAC has announced the launch of GAC Fire, Rescue & Safety (GAC FRS) to meet shipping principals’ needs for full-warranty fire and safety systems and services around the world.
Offered under the GAC Solutions umbrella, GAC FRS combines the Group’s ship agency, logistics and offshore expertise and infrastructure with a solid service partner network to deliver a seamless, innovative and convenient solution directly to any vessels including new buildings and conversions. Working with strategically selected class-approved service providers around the world, GAC FRS ensures that installation and any other services can be carried out for any brand and at any location – no matter how remote.
Strategic Alliance with Tyco Fire & Security Asia
A key element of the GAC FRS service involves a strategic alliance with leading international electronic fire and security solutions specialist, Tyco Fire & Security. The strategic alliance brings together GAC’s commercial skills and one-stop billing solutions with Tyco Fire & Security’s technical expertise, and enables GAC to offer a full range of Tyco Fire & Security’s marine and offshore systems. Tyco Fire & Security will provide classification approved designs, hardware and final testing and commissioning for a range of systems including fire and gas detection systems, gaseous, foam, dry chemical powder and water based fire extinguishing systems and ISPS complaint CCTV and access control systems.

“This is an extremely timely innovation, as compliance to Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) standards is now a major focus for the maritime industry,” said Group Vice President for GAC Solutions Christer Sjödoff at a media reception held in conjunction with the inaugural Sea Asia conference at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore.
