ALBAWABA - Gen Z group organized new protests in several Moroccan cities, calling on authorities to release demonstrators, who were arrested during the last protests, and respond to calls for reform.
The new demonstrations took place last Saturday evening in several cities, including Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, and Marrakesh.
In Rabat, people gathered in front of the parliament building on Oct. 18, demanding reforms to public healthcare and education.
Moroccan media outlets published video clips of the protesters chanting slogans and holding banners with their demands written on them, without any clashes with Moroccan security forces.
The group reiterated its demands for improved health and education services and a fight against corruption, in addition to the immediate release of its members arrested during the recent protests.
According to the Moroccan Association for Human Rights, approximately 600 people, including minors, have been arrested in recent weeks and are awaiting trial.
The Gen Z protests were generally peaceful, but were marred by violence that left three people dead and several others injured.
