Two men and a woman were arrested in Paris Monday by French intelligence agents investigating the suicide bombing of a Tunisian synagogue in April, justice officials said.
The arrests follow those of three other men earlier on this month in Lyon.
Those three, who included the younger brother of the alleged bomber Nizar Nawar, were formally placed under judicial investigation for terrorist-related offenses linked to the attack, according to AFP.
One of the people arrested Monday was also a relative of Nawar, officials said, adding that it was believed the suspect was part of a ring that produced counterfeit identity papers.
The bombing at the Ghriba synagogue on the Tunisian resort island of Djerba, left 21 people dead. It is believed to have been the first major operation carried out by the al-Qaeda terror network since the September 11 attacks. (Albawaba.com)
