A film depicting the plight of Moroccans living in France longing to return to their homeland swept most of the awards at a French film festival in Claremont.

The movie "Salam" won the awards at the Claremont International Film Festival in France, also called "Cannes Festival for Short Movies" as it presents short movies from all over the world. In the recent Claremont International Film Festival, Arab French producers were prominent. "Salam" (Peace), produced by the French Moroccan producer Suad Buhati, took most of the important awards, al Sharq al Awsat daily reported.

The awards were granted to this work due to its creativity and the fact that the French film industry has not so far dealt with this issue.
