Frasers Hospitality Pte Ltd (Fraser) will participate in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) to be held in Dubai from May 4 to 7. Fraser Suites Seef Bahrain, the first luxury, fully serviced accommodation located in Bahrain’s premier shopping and leisure destination - Seef Mall, will be part of a 20-exhibitor contingent headed by Bahrain's Ministry of Culture and Information. As part of Frasers’ global contingent, the ATM will be attended by representatives from Frasers’ properties in Kuala Lumpur as well as Dubai, who will be showcasing their individual properties as well as for the group as a whole.
ATM is the Middle East’s biggest and fastest growing travel and tourism exhibition, attracting tourism companies, resort owners and operators, airlines and tourism service providers from across the globe. Launched in 1994, the exhibition welcomed over 23,000 travel industry professionals from 108 countries to its 16th edition last year. The 2010 show includes a Seminar Programme with a Debate Room in which pertinent topics of immediate concern, covering areas such as sports tourism, value travel and incentive travel will come up for discussion.
Expressing his delight in participating in the prestigious ATM as part of the Bahrain contingent, Mr. Olivier Briand, General Manager, Fraser Suites Seef Bahrain, said, “We intend to use the occasion of the region’s most prominent travel and tourism event to showcase Fraser Suites Seef Bahrain as well as raise awareness of our other global properties and establish Fraser’s brand presence in the region. As a global player in the hospitality sector, the recent grand opening of our Bahrain property marks the beginning of the presence of Frasers Hospitality in the Middle East in a major way. We will be following this up with the launch of two more premium properties in the region - Fraser Suites Dubai and Fraser Suites Doha.”
According to Bahrain’s Ministry of Culture and Information, the hospitality sector is playing an increasingly important role in the country’s growth and diversification into the tourism sector. Its tourism affairs division estimates tourist arrivals in the Kingdom to have risen 10% to 15% per annum over the past three years.
“These are impressive figures by any standards and clearly project Bahrain as a regional meeting point for business as well as entertainment and leisure, with many global companies setting up their operational base here and international sporting events like the Formula One Grand Prix influencing the large tourist influx. ATM attracts the participation of key players in the regional and global travel and tourism trade and provides the perfect platform for networking, brand building and introducing our presence in the region in a big way. It provides the opportunity to present the Fraser brand to our existing and potential partners, meet diverse stakeholders in the tourism sector, negotiate and conduct business with global clients and explore the scope for new business ventures and tie-ups,” he added.
ATM is part of the Reed Travel Exhibitions portfolio, which includes 15 of the world’s leading travel industry events. Reed Exhibitions, the world’s largest organiser of exhibitions and conferences, brings together over 90,000 suppliers and more than 5.5 million buyers from around the world every year, generating billions of dollars in business. With 33 fully staffed offices, its events are held in 38 countries across the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific.
