ALBAWABA - French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin stated that 1,000 will be deployed to protect Israel's football match against Mali at the Paris Olympics where protests are also expected.
In public interviews with BFM television and RMC radio, Darmanin stated that all games through the Olympics have security plans, however, matches held at the at the Parc des Princes will have special security measures.
"All the competitions have a security plan, but it's true that these two matches, and particularly the match at the Parc des Princes, will have security, an anti-terror perimeter," Darmanin said.
Europalestine, the French activist organization behind recent protests, informed the Guardian that it intended to hold a peaceful rally inside the stadium to oppose the ongoing Israeli aggression against the people of Gaza.
The chairman of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, and French President Emmanuel Macron rejected on Tuesday a Palestinian demand that Israel be prohibited from competing in the Paris Games due to the Gaza conflict.
The Palestine Olympic Committee requested a ban on Israel in a letter to the IOC, over the relentless brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza.
All Israeli competitors attending the Paris Games, which begin formally on Friday, will receive round-the-clock personal protection provided by elite French police inside the Olympic Village and whenever they leave the area in northern Paris.
A French police source told AFP that security officials were "expecting actions and disturbances around the stadium" on Wednesday.
Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel
Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.
Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.
