According to Reuters, France called for a meeting of the United Nations Security Council on March 27th to discuss the plight of minorities in the Middle East.

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, who made the announcement at a press conference in Rabat, offered to chair the meeting.

The meeting would address the hardships faced by minorities throughout the Middle East, especially in light of Daesh's atrocities against the Yazidis of Syria and Iraq, as well as the mass execution of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians in Libya.
