Four Lebanese Shiite men were killed in an ambush in a volatile border area in east Lebanon Sunday, a security source told The Daily Star.
The source said two of the men killed were from the Jaafar clan, one from Amhaz and another from the Rasheini family.
The ambush took place in Wadi Rafeq, an open area in the Bekaa Valley near the border towns of Al-Qaa, Arsal and Ras Baalbek.
Tensions quickly ran high in the area after news of the killings spread and dozens of angry gunmen took to the streets on nearby roads.
