An Israeli air strike on a car killed at least 4 Palestinians in the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah on Friday, Palestinian officials and medics said. An Israeli military spokeswoman confirmed the military had carried out an air strike, saying that the target had been "terror operatives".

This attack came hours after an Israeli policeman was killed and a policewoman was seriously wounded in a shooting attack as Palestinian fighters fired toward the Ras Hamis checkpoint near the Shuafat refugee camp in East Jerusalem. The Palestinian news agency Maan reported that a previously unknown organization, the "Return and Struggle Brigades," claimed responsibility for the attack. The organization said it was affiliated with Fatah's Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades.

In a separate incident in the West Bank settlement of "Kfar Etzion" near Jerusalem, three settlers were hurt after Palestinians infiltrated the settlement and began stabbing students. According to press reports, two Palestinians armed with knives and a pistol infiltrated the West Bank settlement. They entered a library and attacked the students and their counselors, who fought back. During the battle, one student was moderately wounded and two of the counselors were lightly wounded, Haaretz reported.
