Four Jordanian students died on Saturday when a missile exploded near their car as they were driving out of Mosul in northern Iraq to flee US and British bombings, a Jordanian government official said Sunday.
Jordan last week advised some 3,000 students enrolled in Iraqi universities to evacuate and most arrived two days later at the border.
On Sunday, four explosions echoed from the Mosul area as war planes flew overhead, said reports.
Meanwhile, Jordan has expelled five Iraqi diplomats after Washington asked more than 60 countries to shut down Iraqi diplomatic missions and dismiss their diplomats, an Iraqi Embassy official said Sunday.
Press attache Jawad al-Ali told The Associated Press that the Jordanian request, made through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was received by Iraqi officials Saturday. He said all five diplomats, including commercial attache Ali Jumah, returned home earlier Sunday. (Albawaba.com)
