Four members of a suspected "terrorist cell" were arrested in Kairouan, for plotting attacks in Sfax, according to an Interior Ministry press release, Thursday.
The four suspects are in contact with known terrorist elements in Libya and others holed up on the heights of Kasserine. They were arrested by the Kairouan anti-terror brigade in collaboration with the El-Aouina anti-terror fight directorate.
Tunisia is tightening its border security as Daesh continues to expand its influence in Libya. Tunisia has built a 250km fence at the border and increased military patrols.
A fifth suspect is on the run, according to the same source.
