ALBAWABA- In a shocking revelation, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak has ignited controversy by disclosing that the tunnels near Shifa Hospital in Gaza were constructed by Israel itself, contradicting Israeli and American assertions that these tunnels were built by Hamas

Barak made this revelation during an exclusive interview on CNN.

Barak asserted, "We built it decades ago," revealing that the purpose behind the construction was to create additional space for Shifa Hospital. According to Barak, Israeli engineers designed and built these tunnels four decades ago during Israel's rule over Gaza.

This disclosure directly challenges the baseless claims made by Israel and the United States, who had alleged that the tunnels were recently discovered and were the handiwork of Hamas for military purposes.

Barak's statement provides evidence that these tunnels were, in fact, constructed 40 years ago when Israel governed the Gaza Strip.

The revelation by the former Prime Minister has sparked widespread controversy, raising questions about the accuracy of previous statements and the motives behind the recent claims regarding the tunnels.
