ALBAWABA- In a rare appearance after months of silence, Abu Obadiah, the military spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, addressed the public on October 6, 2024, marking the first anniversary of the "October 7 Battle of the Flood of Al-Aqsa."
His speech emphasized that the ongoing resistance against Israel is the only viable method for confronting its actions, as the enemy "only understands the language of force and weapons."
During the address, Abu Obaidah highlighted the success of the preemptive strike on Israeli forces, claiming it disrupted Israel's planned major assault on Gaza.
He outlined how this action came in response to escalations around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, settlement expansions, and the aggression against Palestinian prisoners. Abu Obadiah stressed that these provocations left the Palestinian resistance with no choice but to launch a "historic attack."
He further stated that despite the brutality of the Israeli enemy and the betrayal by neighboring regimes, Palestinians remain resilient, supported by a network of regional allies.
"Fronts from Yemen and Iraq have played a role in inflicting significant losses on the enemy," Abu Obaidah noted, pointing to the international dimensions of the struggle.
As the battle enters its second year, Abu Obaidah expressed confidence in the ongoing resistance efforts, while cautioning that Israel's reliance on assassinations as a tactic has been short-lived and ineffective.
"If assassinations were a victory, the resistance would have ended long ago," he remarked, alluding to the martyrdom of key resistance figures.
The Al-Qassam spokesperson concluded by affirming that the fight would continue and that the resistance's determination to protect Palestine remains steadfast.
He urged for the largest Arab, Islamic, and international campaign to support the Palestinian people, reiterating that the only way to confront the enemy is through force and arms.
