Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said on Wednesday Ankara may recall its ambassador to Tel Aviv, protesting Israeli attacks against the Palestinians.

"At a time when all these actions are underway and because we are so closely interested in the peace process and (we are wondering) what more we can do to revive the peace process... in order to evaluate all these, our ambassador may come back in the next few days," Gul told reporters.

"He may come, exchange views and go back again," he said, according to AFP.

On Tuesday, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan slammed Israel's Rafah operation, saying that although Ankara also suffered from "terrorism" and was combating it, he did not see a difference between what "terrorists" were doing and Israel's destruction of homes and the damage it was bringing to civilians.

Erdogan met with National Infrastructure Minister Yosef Paritzky, who said that the Turkish Prime Minister renewed offers to mediate between Israel and both the Palestinians and Syria.

Paritzky, for his part, said the Turkish leader had been forthright in his criticism of Israel's assassination of two Hamas leaders and a recent huge raid on the Gaza Strip.

"The prime minister was very unhappy, to say the least," Paritzky told reporters.

"He claimed that the activities of the State of Israel do not promote peace...(But) he is willing to offer his services to mediate, negotiate and bring peace to the area."

Meanwhile, the UAE National Council Tuesday also condemned Israel's military practices of killings and demolishing homes in the Palestinian Rafah region.

In a statement, the Council described the Israeli brutal practices as violations of the international norms and conventions.

The Council called on the international community to compel Israel to put an end to these daily violations. (Albawaba.com)
