Israel has banned all Israeli flights to Cyprus after Cypriot authorities placed limitations on airline security officials working on the island, an Israeli Civil Aviation spokesman said on Thursday, cited by Israel Radio.

The three companies - El Al, Isra'air and Arkia - will not be permitted to fly to Cyprus from Sunday morning. The Cypriot limitations were applied at the Larnaca airport.

As such, Cyprus Airlines will not be allowed to fly to Israel.

A spokesman for the Israeli Transportation Ministry, for his part, said the Cypriot moves were unexplainable given the threats to Israeli targets, and added that Israel and Cyprus were engaged in high-ranking talks in an attempt to end the crisis. (Albawaba.com)
