Five people were killed and 47 others were injured Monday in three separate accidents in Iran, reported the official Iranian news agency (IRNA), citing a local press report.
The Persian daily, Abrar, reported that three passengers were killed and 39 others injured when a bus overturned on the road from Qazvin to Karaj (near Tehran).
Police in Karaj are still looking into cause of the accident, it said.
Meanwhile, a head-on collision between a Paykan car and a Nissan van on the road from Kashan to Badroud (both in Isfahan province) left two dead and four injured.
The accident was blamed by police in Kashan on the driver of the Nissan who reportedly tried to overtake the Paykan.
Another collision on the same day occurred when a Paykan car and a Volvo truck in Kashan collided, leaving four injured, three of whom were passengers of the Paykan.
