One winner plans to donate her AED 15,000 prize to the poor in memory of her father

A total of AED 500,000 in cash prizes will be awarded this Ramadan

The names of the first weekly winners have been announced in the ‘FREEJ: The Book of Riddles’ contest sponsored by du. The winners are UAE nationals Ahlam Rashid Hassan, Fatima Abdullah Ahmed and two other winners, one each from the UAE and Qatar, each of whom won AED 15,000 for quickly and correctly solving riddles presented as part of 28 special FREEJ episodes being broadcast throughout Ramadan.

“We’re delighted to sponsor the ‘FREEJ: The Book of Riddles’ contest across the Middle East and we extend our warm congratulations to the first weekly winners,” said Hala Badri, EVP Brand and Communications, du. “du is pleased to continue its ongoing support of the innovative FREEJ brand with this interactive contest that rewards quick wits and fast texting skills with amazing cash prizes. We encourage all FREEJ fans to watch the entertaining ‘Book of Riddles’ episodes and try to crack the riddles for their chance to win every week of Ramadan.”

This week’s winners include Ahlam Rashid Hassan, a housewife from Sharjah and Fatima Abdullah Bin Al Sheikh, a Dubai Aviation College student from Dubai.
“I wasn’t expecting to win so I was surprised and very happy when I received the news,” said Ahlam Rashid Hassan. “I’m grateful for this wonderful prize and I’ll be donating the money to the poor in memory of my father.”

To participate in the contest, viewers simply watch the episodes on television, solve the riddles included in each programme, and text their answers to a short-code for the chance to win. Every week of Ramadan, the 4 participants who score the highest number of points in the shortest amount of time will win AED 15,000. Winners will be notified with a phone call from a du representative, followed by an SMS. The four participants with the highest overall number of points in the contest will win the grand prize, awarded after Ramadan; the first prize winner will receive AED 100,000, the second-prize winner AED 50,000, and the third-prize winner 25,000.

In ‘FREEJ: The Book of Riddles,’ the four main characters find themselves stranded in a magical palace filled with mazes and perplexing riddles. After solving the riddles, mobile subscribers from the GCC can simply send an SMS with their answer. If the answer is correct, the customer will receive ten (10) points; no points are awarded for incorrect or invalid answers. Full instructions are available at www.freej.ae.

During Ramadan, ‘FREEJ: The Book of Riddles’ airs daily on Sama Dubai at 8:00 p.m. and is repeated at 1:00 a.m. Sama Dubai will continue to broadcast each episode in these time-slots every day for 27 days.
