The first day of the female football championship of Tunisia took place over the weekend, according to a pres statement from the Tunisian football league. The championship will last twenty two days and will consist of matches between a dozen clubs. The final will take place at the end of February 2005.
The match was given considerable attention in the local Tunisian press. Tunisia is proud of the role women play in society. It is the only Arab country where females bus and taxi drivers are common.
