Fires kill 16 people in Los Angeles, California

ALBAWABA - Medical sources revealed that the death toll from the horrific fires in Los Angeles, California has jumped to 16 people.

AFP reported cities the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner confirmed that 16 people lost their lives in the fires, which spread fast burning 40,198 acres. 

Cal Fire revealed that over 12,300 structures were also damaged in the fire that has been spreading and is unable to be put out by authorities. 

The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner shared a list of fatalities, however, without revealing their identities. 

It detailed that five bodies were found in the Palisades Fire zone, meanwhile, 11 were in the Eaton Fire zone.

Currently, the authorities in California are battling active fires in four areas; Palisades Fire, which was the first to be reported, Eaton Fire, Kenneth Fire and Hurst Fire. Cal Fire reported that Kenneth Fire and Hurst Fire are almost fully under control. 

Capt. Mike Lorenz of the Los Angeles Police Department revealed that policemen arrested seven looters in the last two days. He said: "We even made arrests of two individuals who were actually posing as firefighters coming in and out of houses," CNN reported.
