Fire exchange was reported in the West Bank cities and the Gaza Strip Monday afternoon, reported the Jerusalem Post newspaper, quoting army radio.
The report said that Palestinians were shooting at an Israeli outpost and into the Jewish compound in the West Bank city of Hebron.
According to the paper, “soldiers did not return fire, and there are no reports of injuries or damage.”
In Ramallah, the paper said that Palestinians traded fire with Israeli troops, and no injuries were reported.
According to the Jerusalem Post, Israeli commanders at the Karni crossing point in the Gaza Strip have brought in two tanks and soldiers in armored personnel carriers in an effort to disperse Palestinians who were throwing firebombs and stones at the troops.
Firebombs were also thrown at an Israeli patrol north of Kfar Darom Jewish settlement, said the paper, adding that there were no immediate reports of injuries.
Earlier in the day, four Palestinians were wounded in clashes with Israeli soldiers guarding two Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip, where thousands of people marched in a funeral for a man killed Sunday, witnesses and hospital officials told AFP.
The four were shot with live rounds in clashes between stone-throwing demonstrators and Israeli troops near the Netzarim and Kfar Darom Jewish settlements, hospital officials said.
In Gaza City, a dozen gunmen led at least 3,000 mourners at a funeral procession for Marwan Khalil Al-Ghamri, 28, who was shot in the heart by Israeli soldiers Sunday at the Karni crossing point between Israel and the Gaza Strip, said AFP.
"Revenge!" "Revenge!" some of the mourners cried out.
