Fire broke out in the car park of one of Paris' main railway stations early Thursday, destroying at least three vehicles and halting train services, police said.
Heavy smoke filled the Gare de l'Est railway station and adjoining Metro underground station, halting all train movement to the suburbs ahead of the daily rush-hour.
Fire fighters were quickly at the scene and began searching the station complex.
The cause of the blaze was not immediately known -- PARIS (AFP)
