FINE organises blood donation drive in cooperation with Al Wasl Hospital
Move in line with company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility principles
In line with its efforts to support societal causes, FINE, the market leaders in the Middle East’s hygienic paper industry, recently launched a blood donation drive at its Jebel Ali facility in support of the blood donation center of the Department of Health and Medical Services of Al Wasl Hospital.
Over 80 employees of FINE, led by Peter Janho, Chief Area Officer - Arabian Peninsula and Iran, and other senior managers donated blood on the day. The drive was integral to FINE’s commitment to improving the lives and health of the broader community and was in keeping with its principles of Corporate Social Responsibility.
“FINE’s annual blood donation drive has consistently been able to involve a significant number of its employees, who have voluntarily come forward to donate blood and support a worthy cause. Serving the local community and the society at large has always been high on the agenda for FINE. There is a deep rooted commitment to corporate social responsibility at all levels of the organizational structure within FINE and we are regularly involved in various programs and initiatives that support societal causes,” said Peter Janho.
“We are once again pleased with the response generated by our blood donation campaign and we are glad to continue our support to the Al Wasl Blood Donation Centre, which has been doing an admirable job in saving lives by maintaining ample stock of blood,” he added.
FINE staff members from all departments were invited to participate in the blood donation drive. Volunteers were professionally attended to by personnel from the Blood Donation Centre’s mobile blood collection unit, which set up the required medical gear at the company’s offices in Jebel Ali.
“We thank the employees of FINE who have turned up in large numbers to donate blood voluntarily. With this noble gesture, FINE is setting an excellent example to show the important role companies can play in maintaining adequate blood stock levels in our blood banks,” said Nadia Abdullah, session organizer at the Blood Donation Centre.
