FINE, the market leaders in the Middle East’s hygienic paper industry, has announced its plans to step up its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the region and continue its ongoing efforts to support various societal causes.
In late 2006, FINE donated a huge quantity of baby diapers and other products to the UAE Red Crescent which could help them become better-equipped to handle humanitarian crisis situations in the region that could arise out of natural calamities and other reasons.
“The large quantities of baby diapers that FINE donated have proved extremely beneficial to us during our various relief efforts in the region. Such acts of generosity by corporates can go a long way in providing relief to people who are affected by natural calamities or war, and we look forward to FINE’s continued support for us,” said Fahed Sultan, , Red Crescent.
Peter Janho, Chief Area Officer - Arabian Peninsula and Iran, said, “For FINE, serving the local community and the society at large has always been top priority. There is a deep rooted commitment to corporate social responsibility at all levels of the organisational structure within FINE and we are regularly involved in various programs and initiatives that support societal causes.”
“Looking ahead, we are focused on involving ourselves in several more CSR activities that will benefit the local community and the natural environment as well,” he added.
FINE also regularly conducts blood donation campaigns in its facility in Jebel Ali in coordination with the Blood Donation Center at Al Wasl Hospital. FINE employees from all departments enthusiastically turn up in large numbers to donate blood and thereby contribute to the society in a small way.
