The constitutional council announced Monday the final and official results of the presidential election held on 8th April 2004. Abdelaziz Bouteflika won with 8,651,723 votes, say 84.99 percent. Second came Ali Benflis with 653,951 votes, i.e. 6.42 percent, Abdellah Djaballah 511,526 (5.02 percent), Said Sadi 197,111 (1.94 percent), Louisa Hanoune 101,630 (1.00 percent), Fawzi Rebaine 63,761 (0.63 percent).
