FileNet Corporation (Nasdaq: FILE), the leading provider of Enterprise Content and Business Process Management solutions, has announced that it has been positioned in the "Leader" quadrant by Gartner Inc., a premier industry research and advisory firm, in its 2005 Magic Quadrant assessment of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) vendor offerings.
The report, titled "Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Content Management 2005," is the second in the ECM Magic Quadrant series and evaluates 18 content management vendors on several factors, including the architecture, integration and completeness of each vendor and its ECM suite.
According to the report, Gartner states that during 2005, the content management market has continued to transition from a best of breed focus to more mature, fully integrated ECM suites. FileNet was one of the first ECM vendors to recognize this emerging market requirement. In 2003, FileNet launched its FileNet P8 platform, a reliable, scalable and highly available enterprise platform that enables organizations to streamline and automate business processes, access and manage all forms of content, and automate records management to help meet compliance needs.
“We are pleased that FileNet has been recognized in the leader quadrant in the ECM space by Gartner,” said Lee Roberts, chairman and CEO, FileNet Corporation. “Since FileNet’s inception, more than 4,000 organizations, including more than three quarters of the FORTUNE 100, have taken advantage of FileNet solutions for help in managing their mission-critical content and processes. Our FileNet P8 architecture combines comprehensive process management, integration capabilities and rich content management to drive better, faster decision-making across the enterprise.”
According to Gartner, “Leaders” have the highest combined scores for their ability to execute and completeness of vision. The ‘leaders’ are currently doing well and are prepared for the future with a clearly articulated vision. Gartner also characterizes “leaders” cited in the report as those with the ability to deliver a comprehensive ECM suite with proven enterprise scalability, strong channel partners, a presence in multiple geographic regions, consistent financial performance, broad platform and customer support.
