Israel’s Prime Minister Ariel Sharon shared warm words with cabinet members about retiring Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Shaul Mofaz during a farewell session at the cabinet Sunday.

Mofaz is retiring from the Israeli Army, after 36-year service, which includes four years as Chief of Staff, according to the Jerusalem Post.

The Israeli leader expressed his appreciation for Mofaz’s leadership over the last four years, which Sharon described as "difficult ones," Israel radio reported.

"I think that we have had great successes. We still have complex challenges in this area, but... We have always felt that we have someone to rely on," Sharon added. (Albawaba.com)
