Extreme Networks, Inc., the leader in open converged networks, and Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, have launched an easy purchase and fast deployment offer especially for small and midsize businesses, based on Avaya’s IP Office and Extreme Networks’ Summit LAN switches, at GITEX 2007. The bundle will be distributed by APTEC, the IT and Telco products distributor, where purchases can be made on the stand.
The two industry heavyweights have put together a superior, cost effective solution combining Extreme Networks’ VoIP-aware networks with Avaya’s communication applications for small and midsize businesses providing customers with best-of-breed, cost effective communications solutions.
Avaya’s Intelligent Communications solutions are enabled and supported by Extreme Networks’ resilient networking infrastructure — offering reliable and secure converged technologies with a single point of accountability.
“SMBs are largely left out of the game when it comes to VoIP solutions due largely to cost. The Avaya and Extreme Networks partnership allows us to jointly offer Intelligent Communications solutions and a resilient networking infrastructure to small and midsize businesses at a highly competitive price,” said Chris Moore, Regional Director ME & Africa for Extreme Networks.
“According to our forecasts the Middle East networking market is expected to grow 50% per annum in the coming years, so this solution comes at a particularly apt time.”
Particularly targeted at the Retail, Healthcare, Financial, Insurance and Real Estate sectors, the solution will provide a new business communications system to meet customers’ demands for connectivity, management, security and voice quality with a superior Quality of Service (QoS).
“Companies around the world are implementing Intelligent Communications into business processes and realizing increases in worker productivity, customer loyalty, and profitability. Avaya’s partnership with Extreme Networks helps us to provide superior, value-added solutions to our customers,” said Roger El-Tawil, Channel and Marketing Director, Avaya.
The solution will benefit users by assuring high availability of distributed communications with scalable performance backed by pervasive security and mission-critical reliability as well as comprehensive network optimization to increase application availability. The offer will also employ voice-enabled networks specifically designed to handle VoIP traffic processing in addition to “Always on” architecture with built-in redundancy and failover mechanisms to minimize dropped calls.
Extreme Networks and Avaya are looking to accelerate the evolution of secure Intelligent Communications by combining Avaya’s business communication applications with Extreme Networks’ VoIP-aware engaged networks and delivering market-leading security, intrusion detection and threat mitigation. By basing innovation on flexible, open standards-based architecture interoperability is ensured.
“By providing the market with a high quality solution with ease of management at a greatly reduced total cost of ownership, users of our solution will enjoy a faster return on investment,” said Moore.
This newest tie-up with Avaya comes at a particularly bright time for Extreme Networks. Having just moved just moved to offices twice their original size, the networking experts are enjoying a growth of 35% from 2006.
“The Middle East region has been very good to Extreme Networks. With the increased need for quality networking, more and more companies are turning to us for reliable, secure, and highly available solutions. We are not resting on our laurels, however, and have projected that our growth will continue at the same rate for years to come,” said Moore.
Extreme Networks will further its vision for engaged networks with two security offerings that will be launched in the region at GITEX Dubai 2007 as part of their growing portfolio of product innovations for Ethernet infrastructure solutions. The two new offerings will extend the benefits of meaningful insight and unprecedented control of the
network.
