ALBAWABA- Maersk Shipping Company has disclosed that two American-flagged ships altered their course away from the Bab al-Mandab Strait following nearby explosions.

According to Maersk, a U.S. Navy ship, accompanying the vessels, intercepted projectiles after observing the explosions.

The two ships, their crew, and their cargo were not damaged, and the US Navy has accompanied them.

American military officials confirmed that Houthis launched three missiles targeting the American merchant ship Detroit in the Gulf of Aden.

The destroyer Greeley intercepted two of the missiles, averting a potential disaster. The third missile fell into the water without causing any harm to the ship.

While the Houthis have not yet commented on the incident, they had previously declared all U.S. and U.K. ships as legitimate targets in response to perceived aggression by the U.S. and U.K. against Yemen.
