Former Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat called for sanctions against companies that boycott settlements in the West Bank.

"Sanctions should be taken against companies that boycott Judea and Samaria," Barkat said.

Barkat went to the U.S. last week to encourage American administration to act against companies who boycott the settlements in the West bank.

In November, Airbnb chose to remove settler listings from its popular website of temporary rentals.

Since the decision Airbnb has released a string of confusing statements where the company has placed a partial boycott.

“While the company’s actions show they are alarmed by the unexpected blowback to their policy, without officially ending their uniquely discriminatory policy against Jewish communities, they will still face the legal consequences,” said Kontorovich, who is the director of International Law at the Jerusalem-based Kohelet Policy Forum.
