The European Union's Foreign Ministers' Council is to start discussions on a new package of incentives to Iran on Monday. EU sources told IRNA that the package has two parts, one containing incentives and the other measures. "Today the discussion will concentrate on the positive package of incentives," said the sources.
According to IRNA, the incentives will include closer economic and trade relations, security guarantees and support to the development of a nuclear civilian reactor but on condition that Tehran suspends nuclear- related activity.
EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana, told reporters in Brussels that "it will be a generous package, a bold package, that will contain issues relating to nuclear, economic matters, and maybe, if necessary, security matters."
