etisalat celebrates uae national day with “my sweet homeland” song
pays tribute to uae national day by broadcasting animated video


To celebrate the 36th UAE  National day, Etisalat today announced its support for an animated video featuring a song titled “My Sweet Homeland” . The song will be an integral part of Etisalat’s activities to celebrate UAE National day on December 2 as the nation comes together with great pride to celebrate a promising future and reflect on the accomplishments of the past.

The video will be broadcast on several UAE TV stations on the occasion of the 36th National Day celebrations for viewers to enjoy including English language stations where it will be featured with subtitles.  Etisalat had also conceived and broadcasted another song titled “Salute to my Country ”on video in 2006  to celebrate National day.

The animation video featuring the song has been produced and co-directed by Hanan Ghaith , an employee of E-Vision, which is the cable TV arm of Etisalat. The song has been sung by Abdulla Obaid Al Shehi. The entire project was done totally online by Hanan and five other Emirati friends in collaboration with an international team from Chile as part of a online animation club called Letsanimate.net. The video took 6 months to conceive and get shot with the storyboard , lyrics and filming  taking place in the UAE  with active support from E-Vision . The  final artwork  for the video was done in Chile.

The video features a character called Dana who is  a smart, creative, and caring little   girl. She takes care of Click who is a cheeky, charming and curious cat. Together with Click, Dana decides to celebrate her country’s National Day by going on a journey from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. In the course of the video, she passes various landmarks of the country and is amazed and excited by the wonder of her country.
