Visitors to the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation - Etisalat- stand at GITEX 2005 will be able to view and experience a range of new services and products that adopt the latest international standards and technology in the telecommunications and IT sectors. Many of these services are slated for commercial launch soon.
Mohammed Al Fahim, Executive Vice President, Etisalat, said that the Corporation's participation in GITEX 2005 reflects the company's philosophy of meeting all its customer needs and fulfilling expectations. "Our large presence at the eagerly-awaited trade show, under the slogan 'Your ambitions... Our achievements' will make GITEX a platform for the launch of new and innovative services using the latest technology to provide complete ICT solutions for businesses and individuals, as well as reflect our commitment to involving ourselves closely with our customers’ success and satisfaction."
"This year, we are also marking GITEX with a series of launches as well as attractive promotions for our loyal customers both old and new. This is our way of commemorating this eagerly anticipated trade show, and showing our appreciation to our customers for their unfailing support and appreciation of our services", he added.
One of the attractive promotions in the mobile sector will enable people wishing to subscribe for the prepaid Wasel service to pay only AED 99 when they buy the SIM card on Etisalat's e-Shop, www.e4me.ae. This will enable a larger number of people to go mobile and enjoy all the benefits of mobile communication.
The package of AED 99 includes home delivery and AED 10 worth of initial talk time. This offer will run for the week of GITEX, and end on 30th September.
For current mobile users who are ready to move up to the next generation of mobile communication Etisalat has announced a promotion for people to convert to the 'Mubashir' 3G service. During the period of GITEX, until 30th September, subscribers will be able to convert their SIM card to a 3G card for free at any Etisalat Business Centre or by simply calling 125, and also get a month's rent of AED 25 waived. All 3G 'Mubashir' users, until 30th October, will be able to enjoy the benefits of video calls for a month and be charged at the rates of ordinary voice calls only.
eCompany, Etisalat’s internet powerhouse, is running a raffle draw each day of GITEX, which will see ten lucky visitors walking away with a modem each. Five wireless and five wired modems will be won each day by visitors who subscribe to the Al Shamil broadband service at the Etisalat stand. This is apart from the many stations of eCompany at Etisalat’s GITEX stand that showcase the latest and most innovative services and solutions for individuals and businesses.
Visitors to the Etisalat stand can also enter a daily raffle to win mobile phones.
The Etisalat stand at GITEX 2005 has been divided into three distinct areas, and these focus on services and solutions of particular interest to a customer segment. The three areas are 'Future', 'Consumer' and 'Corporate'.
Based in the 'Future' area are services that may appear like science fiction right now, but are in fact in the pipeline for launch by Etisalat in the future. Many of these will be pioneered in the region, and there is something for all segments of Etisalat's customers. Key services here include Liquid Media, Etisalat Messenger and Mobile Payments.
The 'Consumer' section, aimed at showcasing services for everyday individual users would be the most popular section, as people could see telecom innovations that would be reality soon. Many of these services are also pioneered in the region, and customers would greatly appreciate the ease and convenience brought about by these launches. Some of these services include Push to Talk, SMS over Fixed Lines, and online gaming.
The Corporate section focuses on how a good ICT infrastructure and range of services can enhance enterprise efficiency. Corporate consumers will find a range of services ready for launch or being demonstrated that will integrate various locations as well as media. Some of the key innovations that can be seen here include Email on the move, IP-based Virtual Private Networks, as well as solutions for corporate network security and web hosting.
