Starting from today, Etihad guests will have the added benefit of a new lounge at Abu Dhabi International Airport.  This exclusive lounge will cater to Etihad’s increasing number of Diamond and Pearl guests traveling through the airport.  The facilities have been designed to enhance services, which will add comfort and satisfaction to guests’ entire travel experience.
Situated on the airport’s first floor, the lounge can accommodate 60 guests and features a separate ladies’ section.  Etihad guests will discover a welcoming environment, which offers distinct areas for conducting business, enjoying a range of audio and video entertainment or relaxing in quiet lounge areas.
“The new lounge is important to Etihad Airways in many ways,” explains Ian Ferguson Brown, Head of Communications. “In addition to adding value in terms of enhancing a passenger's comfort, especially in the form of privacy and personal space, this new development also helps us reinforce our brand values in another dimension.”
The design of the new lounge with elegant furnishings and luxurious touches reflects Etihad’s qualities of hospitality in the relaxing, fresh and modern environment catering to today’s discerning travelers.
Guests can enjoy a superb selection of refreshments and hot and cold buffet dishes.  Etihad’s guests will soon be able to order from a wide selection of dishes offered in Diamond and Coral Zones. For on-the-go business travellers, the lounge is amply equipped with laptop connections, high-speed Internet access, and fax and telephone facilities.  Lounge guests wishing to really unwind before or after a flight can also access the airport’s gym and shower facilities.
A unique feature of the new lounge is the spectacular view from a window running the entire length of the lounge that looks out directly onto the aircraft readying for departure and the airport runway beyond.
“With more guests travelling through Abu Dhabi International Airport, it is increasingly important that we provide them with the facilities they demand,” said Ian Ferguson Brown, Head of Communications, Etihad Airways.  “The new lounge is a natural progression in our development, and it also reflects the tremendous growth that Abu Dhabi International Airport is experiencing.”

Notes to the editors:

Etihad Airways, although a new arrival, now flies to 17 destinations in the Middle East, Europe and Asia.  The growing network now serves Amman, Bahrain, Bangkok, Beirut, Cairo, Colombo, Damascus, Dammam, Geneva, Frankfurt, Karachi, London (Heathrow), London (Gatwick), Mumbai, Munich, New Delhi and Riyadh.
In addition to Etihad’s rapidly expanding international routes, the airline has also created Etihad Holidays in record time.  Launched in May 2004, Etihad Holidays offers an array of over 170 hotels in more than 35 exciting holiday destinations in 14 countries – from vibrant bustling cities and picturesque, romantic beach resorts to cultural breaks and world renowned hotels.
The cargo division of Etihad Airways, Etihad Crystal Cargo, offers a comprehensive range of cargo services on all flights of the airline's rapidly expanding network. A growing fleet of regional freighter aircraft operates additional cargo destinations - currently Frankfurt, Amman, Mumbai, Milan, Chennai, Khartoum and New Delhi - and world-wide charter flights. Etihad Crystal Cargo's services are based on three fundamental promises - Ultimate Information Transparency, 21st Century Technology and Total Customer Focus.
Etihad’s focus is on doing things differently – reinventing the way an airline works, with the emphasis very much on creating new standards in hospitality.  Etihad refers to passengers as ‘guests’ and has three ‘guest zones’ – Diamond, Pearl and Coral - rather than classes.  Each zone provides a premium service, with quality and undivided attention emphasized.
