An increasing number of travellers will be flying to Oman with Etihad Airways this winter thanks to the frequency of the flights between Abu Dhabi and Muscat and Etihad’s superior in-flight product.

Since launching the daily service, between the UAE and Omani capital, in March bookings with Etihad have trebled, bringing a wealth of new business and leisure travellers to Oman.

“It is a tremendous achievement that after only half a year Etihad has successfully established itself as the leading airline for visitors looking to enjoy the wonderful Omani winter climate and fantastic tourist attractions,” said Khondakar Kabir, Etihad’s Oman sales manager.

“One of Etihad’s key aims when opening the new route was to use Abu Dhabi as a hub to bring in more commercial and leisure travellers to Oman, and we look forward to building on this further in the months and years ahead.”

The recent launch of Etihad’s new route to the USA’s commercial capital, New York, is also set to increase American commercial interests in Oman.

The daily service means that Guests can take Etihad flight EY 504, which departs from New York at 23:10, arriving in Abu Dhabi 14 hours later at 20:25.

Oman-bound Guests then only have an hour to wait at Abu Dhabi International Airport prior to catching the 50 minute flight to Muscat, ensuring the whole journey takes around 16 hours.

To celebrate the New York route, Etihad Airways is offering Guests from Oman some of the most competitive prices to the US’ commercial capital, starting at OMR229.000 one way, and OMR289.000 return.

“This new route will have a significant impact on serving Guests across the region, and not just in the UAE and Oman. Etihad now has frequent routes to all the GCC nations which will continue to benefit commercial and tourism ties between these two lucrative continents,” added Khondakar Kabir.

Guests flying between Muscat and New York will experience Etihad’s state-of-the-art product on a Boeing 777-300ER to Abu Dhabi, and then an Airbus A340-500 onto New York.

Both luxuriously-appointed, brand-new, aircraft offer Guests the highest levels of comfort and in-flight entertainment.

The two zone Boeing 777-300ER is configured to carry a total capacity of 378 Guests, 350 in Coral zone and 28 in Pearl zone which offers Etihad’s award-winning business-bed.

The three zone Airbus A340-500 is configured to carry 240 Guests with 12 in Diamond, 28 in Pearl and 200 in Coral zone.

The Diamond zone in the A340-500 offers Etihad’s revolutionary Diamond seat eat which sets new industry benchmarks as it can rotate 180 degrees, enabling Guests to hold meetings, dine and converse with one another.
