Ethiopia expresses keenness to enhance relations with Yemen

Ethiopian president Girma Woldegiorgis has confirmed his country’s interest in strengthening relations with Yemen in various spheres, especially trade and investment.  

 

President Woldegiorgis said on Wednesday, while receiving the credentials of Yemen's newly appointed ambassador to Ethiopia, Ameen al-Yusufi that Ethiopia has the desire to push relations with Yemen forward. He said, "Both governments of Ethiopia and Yemen, should double efforts to bolster relations between the two nations. Geographical closing between Yemen and Ethiopia will help develop economic and trade relations between the two countries."  

 

According to SABA, in remarks made during the meeting, Al-Yusufi said, "the balanced Yemeni-Ethiopian relations are the gate to develop relations between the Africa continent and Arab world." The agency added that the Yemeni community in Ethiopia is the largest amongst Arab communities in Ethiopia after Somali. (Albawaba.com)
