Epson Middle East with their distributors, Almoe are showcasing their range of large-format printers, at the 8th edition of Sign & Graphic Imaging Middle East 2006, the region’s only specialised signage, graphic imaging and screen printing show which is being held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, Hall # 6, 7 and 8.

Epson’s large-format printers have garnered a solid reputation for its high quality, high performance, cost effective delivery of the highest resolution large-format prints in the signage industry.

The line-up of Epson products on exhibition includes the 17-inch wide Stylus Pro 4400, 24-inch Stylus Pro 7400 and 44-inch Stylus Pro 9400. The range combines a unique set of features to make it one of the most cost-effective, fast and flexible range of printers for design professionals in the Point of Sale (POS), Computer Aided Design (CAD), Geographic Information System (GIS) and corporate markets.

All three models feature Epson UltraChrome ink resulting in vivid and life-like images.  An intuitive control panel and interface are included for quick and easy printing. The range is also robust and will handle a large number of print jobs without supervision, whilst the large capacity ink cartridges allow users to deliver large print jobs without interruption.

Professionals can print applications ranging from POS materials, GIS maps and architectural designs to colour presentations on a range of media.  The printer range supports matte and glossy media up to 1.5mm thick.  Even for specialist requirements such as screen printing, the Stylus Pro range prints on suitable transparent media with screen rulings up to 150lpi to create perfect black and white masks.

Khalil El-Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East, said: “Epson has been aggressively marketing its high performance professional colour printing devices in order to tap into the region’s burgeoning signage and large format printing market which is currently experiencing double-digit annual growth. Our large format printers are ideally suited to meet the demands of commercial printers here, and the Sign & Graphic Imaging Middle East is the perfect venue at which to highlight the latest technological advancements to existing and potential customers.”

Epson is also showcasing its new large-format printer range that incorporates its latest 8-colour Ultrachrome K3 inkset. The new range includes the 17-inch wide Stylus Pro 4800, 24-inch Stylus Pro 7800 and 44-inch Stylus Pro 9800.  The new range offers a number of options geared specifically to meet the demands of professionals in the photographic, fine art and proofing professionals.

The Epson UltraChrome K3 ink is a new formulation incorporating a new pigment and resin coating.  It produces a wide colour gamut for accurate reproduction of saturated colours and accurate simulation of industry proofing standards.  Furthermore it delivers prints that look good in any lighting condition and have a professional finish. A new improved driver technology is included with all of the new printers. It features printer colour adjustment modes, making it easy to print in whatever mode matches the  colour space of the digital input, for example, sRGB or Adobe RGB.

Featuring Epson’s core technologies, the range delivers results where quality cannot be compromised. These include Epson’s Micro Piezo print head technology, which precisely controls the amount of ink delivered, resulting in finely detailed images.  The range also incorporates Epson’s Variable-sized Droplet Technology, which automatically adjusts the size of the droplet according to the image content.

“With the outdoor advertising industry estimated to be growing at a rate of around 20 per cent annually, there is a need to provide innovative solutions that will produce great results cost-effectively. Our participation in Sign & Graphic Imaging Middle East  not only enabled us to demonstrate our expertise in large format printers, but also gave us the opportunity to get feedback from the graphics industry’s key players in order to understand and meet their requirements,” said El Dalu.
